Bodily condition characterized by excessive storage of fat in the adipose tissue.
Generally results from consumption of food in excess of physiological needs.
OBESITY can occur at any age in either sex.
In women- obesity is liable to occur after pregnancy and at menopause.
Obesity is a serious health hazard as extra fat puts on heart , kidney and liver....as well as large weight bearing joints such as hips , knees and ankles.. which shortens life span.
Over weight persons are susceptible to several diseases such as ....heart failure , high blood Pressure, diabetes, arthritis , gout, liver and gall bladder disorders etc..
Causes
Most common cause of over weight intake of calories beyond the body's energy requirements
Recent times....increasing awareness of psychological aspects of obesity.
Obesity sometimes also results of disturbances of the thyroid or pituitary glands ....generally glandular disorders account for only 2% in total incidences.
In such persons nasal metabolic rate is low and they keep gaining weight unless they take a low calorie diet.

Breakfast -Bengal gram sprouts , wheat , mung and 1 cup skimmed milk.
Lunch - salads or raw vegetable such as ...carrot , beat cucumber, cauliflower, onion , whole wheat dry chappatis and glass of butter milk..
Mid - afternoon - coconut water , any fruit juices ( except apple juice) lemon tea , vegetable soup etc ..
Dinner - whole wheat dry chappatis , steamed vegetables, any seasonal fruits , except banana and apples ...
